All dogs and cats 3 months and older must be registered in accordance with the Domestic Animals Act 1994. Owners who fail to register their animal may be liable for a penalty. It is compulsory for all dogs and cats kept within the Council area to be implanted with a microchip. For a child under the age of 18, the dog or cat must be registered in the parent’s or guardian’s name. Under the provisions of the Information Privacy Act, the information provided on this form will be used solely for the purpose for which it is given or for any approved secondary purpose under the Act.
